Our Background
Our team comes from the field, with firsthand experience in over a decade of public works projects. Andrew Bone is the founder of Backbone Estimating and brings over a decade of hands-on experience in public works construction to every estimate he produces. His career spans a wide range of heavy to light civil projects — from complex bridge structures and local roadway improvements to park developments and underground utility installations, to name a few. Andrew built his reputation on the general contractor side of the industry, where his meticulous approach to takeoffs and deep familiarity with bidding platforms consistently produced winning bids on competitive public works projects. Throughout his career he has worked alongside and built relationships with countless public agencies, from county public works departments, city parks, to regional utility authorities and beyond. That field-level experience is what sets Backbone Estimating apart — We don't just understand the numbers, we understand the work behind them.
